Jenny’s Story

The market stall is a good thing to do, as it involves reaching out to different people while talking face to face.

I find St Luke’s very non-judgmental and generous in attitude, in the sense if you don’t attend regularly you are not made to feel bad about it, you don’t even need to explain yourself. Any questions put forward come from a caring perspective. You feel like you are part of a family and everybody is made most welcome. Nobody is better or worse than anybody else and everybody is accepted. This then makes you think from an honest point of view about how you might feel about people, and in a way this is an education in itself, which helps us to grow in a spiritual sense. St Luke’s encourages everybody and plants seeds which grow at different rates.

St Luke’s has taught me that a church is about the people, more than the building itself.
